Okay, here we go …. my very first blog post.
Honestly, I never thought I’d start writing. It’s definitely not my forte, which is probably why I’ve always preferred to paint.
But today, I felt inspired. I just watched a documentary about Jeremy Mann, and I was completely captivated. What an incredible artist. His process and his way of seeing the world are truly remarkable. The dedication he brings to developing his ideas—the layers of thought, the preliminary stages, the evolution from abstraction to realism—is fascinating.
Watching him create also made me think of Amadeus. There’s something in that film about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s loneliness—the sense that he was connected to something beyond himself, something larger than everyday life. A kind of divine current flowing through him, beautiful and isolating at the same time.
It made me reflect on that strange space artists sometimes occupy—between the ordinary world and something beyond it. A place where inspiration feels almost otherworldly, where ideas seem to arrive from somewhere we can’t fully explain. Watching Jeremy Mann work reminded me that art isn’t just about the final piece; it’s about chasing that connection, nurturing it, and finding the courage to follow it wherever it leads.
